What Is This Service?

Coldwater offers an optional SMS-based virtual queue for Friends Day service events. By texting our queue number, you can reserve your place in line and receive an assigned arrival window so you don't have to wait on-site.

SMS is completely optional. You are never required to send a text message to receive service from Coldwater. Walk-in service is always available — staff at the front desk can add you to the queue in person. You will receive the same service whether you use SMS or walk in.

 

Your Consent to Receive Messages

By texting the Coldwater queue number, you consent to receive SMS text messages from Coldwater related to your queue position for that day's Friends Day event. This consent is solely for SMS messaging and is not a condition of receiving any service from Coldwater. This consent is not part of any other agreement.

You will receive messages about:

• Your queue position and assigned arrival window

• A reminder before your scheduled arrival time

• Queue status updates (if applicable)

Message frequency: Up to 4 messages per Friends Day. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not required to receive goods or services.

 

How to Opt In

You opt in by voluntarily sending a text message to the Coldwater queue number. You can do this by:

• Scanning the QR code on our signage, which opens your messaging app with a pre-filled message — you choose whether to tap Send

• Texting the word JOIN (or any message) directly to our queue number

By sending your first text message, you are providing your consent to receive queue-related SMS messages from Coldwater for that day only.

 

How to Opt Out

You can stop receiving messages at any time. Simply text one of the following keywords to the Coldwater queue number:

STOP              Opt out of all SMS messages from this number

CANCEL        Leave today's queue (you can still receive future messages)

START            Re-subscribe after opting out with STOP

HELP.              Receive information about available commands

After texting STOP, you will receive a single confirmation message and no further messages will be sent. You can re-subscribe at any time by texting START.

Queue confirmation:

You've joined the Coldwater Friends Day queue! You are #42 in line. Your arrival window: 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Address: [Coldwater address]. You will receive up to 4 messages today about your queue position. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply CANCEL to leave the queue.

Reminder (30 minutes before your slot):

Reminder: Your Coldwater Friends Day slot (#42) starts at 11:00 AM - about 30 minutes from now. Reply YES if you're coming. Reply NO to cancel your spot.

Queue closed:

The Coldwater Friends Day queue is not open yet. It opens at 10:15 AM today. Text us back then! Reply STOP to opt out of messages.

 

About Coldwater

Coldwater is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides food and clothing assistance to families in need. Friends Day service events are held on Wednesdays and every other Saturday.

Privacy

Your phone number is used solely to manage your queue position for Friends Day events. Coldwater does not sell, share, or use your phone number for marketing purposes.

Phone numbers are stored in hashed form and queue data is automatically deleted after 90 days. No message history is retained beyond what is needed for queue management on the day of service.
